  1. Downloaded files keep going to a video game folder for mods

I redownloaded a video game recently, I put a bunch of mods in its mods folder, before deleting the game i took the mods out and reput them after the download. Now for some reason every downloaded file goes to that folder instantly, and I can't even drag the file out, unless I cut it out and paste it. How do I fix this?

    :)

Problem with .mod files on Windows 10

The article you suggest states that .MOD will work with various versions of Windows OS, but Windows 10 is not one of them. All other posts I can find has Microsoft suggesting I go find a third party (unverified) to download CODEC files to try and play my
home videos with warnings and disclaimers that it may break my system or make it unstable.

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Attempt to play a .MOD video file in Windows 10

    2. Using Windows Live Movie Maker or Windows Media Player (does not seem to matter what version)

    3. Immediate message that the 'program has stopped working and windows will notify me if a solution is found'.

If windows cannot fix this, then please suggest your top competitor that can.

    Regretfully,

    James

    Trouble with mods for games

    Thank you for your reply,

It is a long shot but while you suspect it is a firewall-related issue, please refer to this link to guide you on how you can enable access through the firewall

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/ris....

If this does not work, I suggest reinstalling the game and mods again, I'm not much of a gamer right now but back then when I used to play games and install mods sometimes I get these issues too so the best solution was to reinstall everything step by step, before that I make sure to uninstall everything and delete all files related to the games or mods.

Note some mods need a basic version of mods to function, it is like an update to the mods so to speak
