Windows 10: downloaded pdfs getting opened in jpg format and then can't open the file

I wanted to save windows 10 spotlight pictures so to open them i had to make a command on powershell to convert the pictures to jpg format, so instead of clicking on the folder i had saved the pictures into I clicked on downloaded and now all my downloaded apps and pdfs are converted into jpg format and whenever i try to open any pdf it gets opened in the photos and it says 'we don't support such file format' what should I do to undo that command

• Does the issue persist in Edge browser?
• Do you get similar error when you open the PDF file in Adobe reader?

Check if you are facing similar issue in Edge browser.



Step 1: Open PDF file in Adobe reader and check if you are facing similar issue.



To open PDF file directly from Adobe reader, follow the steps below:

• Open Adobe application and click on Edit.
• Click on Preferences and select Internet.
• Uncheck Display PDF in Browser option and check if you are able to open the PDF file without getting the error code.

Step 2: If you are able to open PDF file in Adobe reader, I suggest you to
Turn off Internet Explorer,
enable it again and check if the issue is resolved.

Cannot download or open pdf in Edge


Sometime over the past couple of days I have lost the ability to download any files when browsing with Edge and I cannot open PDF files from within Edge either.

Downloading just says xxxx.yyy couldn't be downloaded and nothing will fix it - yet I can download using IE or Chrome to the same downloads directory. Attempts to open pdf files get exactly the same response.

Any suggestions? I really like Edge and it annoys me that I cannot use it anymore.

Problems opening PDF in Edge

I had saved several printed several files off of the internet to pdf and have not experienced any issues until today. I tried to open a file and received the following message.

Couldn’t open PDF

Something’s keeping this PDF from opening.

• Go back to the last page

I went to several other files that I have done this way previously and was no longer able to open them as well which is causing a serios issue. I have tried to open the file in other formats but have had no luck. Any suggestions?
