  1. Downloaded ZIP files not opening and then disappearing

Hi,I am downloading .zip files from a safe source, Slack. When I try to open the file it says Access Denied, and then short while later the file itself just disappears. First I also got a wacatac.b!ml Trojan warning, and resolved it using the answers provided in the thread: How can I know if Wacatac.B!ml is a false positive or it's a real - Microsoft Community. Then I went ahead and restarted my PC. Downloaded a different zip file, and the wacatac came back, so I re-ran the scans. Now, these zip files keep disappearing after a 5-10 seconds of downloading.I have tried windows defender offline

    :)

  2. Downloaded files disappear

When you download a file through any browser, there's an option somewhere to 'Open Containing Folder.'

In Windows, to find a file you have downloaded...

    1. Open your personal folder by clicking the Start button and then clicking your user name at the top of the Start menu's right pane.
    2. Double-click one of the following folders:
      • Downloads
      • Documents
      • Pictures
      • Videos
      • Music

If you do not see the file you are looking for, but know its file name, you can search for it by following these steps:
To search for a file you have downloaded...

    1. Click the Start button
    2. Type all or part of the file name into the Search box.
The file you are looking for will appear in the list of results.

    Can't open Zip Files

The icon for the .zip file suggests it doesn't have a program associated with it. Windows does have built-in support for .zip files but something must have happened to that feature. I usually recommend the free 7-Zip for working with compressed files, helps in diagnosing where a problem may lie. I found the file on the 'net, downloaded it and opened fine.
