Windows 10: Downloading Microsoft Flight Simulator from the Microsoft Store

Hi,

I just bought the physical version of MFS and installed it from the discs. Now I have to download extra content of the flight simulator from the Microsoft Store too, but it won't work. It always says error and that I have to try again in a few minutes. I have the newest windows version and already reseted the cache. Can anybody help me?

Microsoft Flight Simulator issue after Windows 10 Upgrade

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.



I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

Refer the steps below to uninstall.

• Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
• Open programs and features.
• In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
  Remove.

Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



Reinstall the Flight Simulator.



Please reply to us if the issue still persist.

 

Microsoft 'Flight' Free to Download

Today Microsoft announced that Microsoft "Flight" the latest version of the Microsoft Flight Simulator, will be free to download for the PC sometime later this year. The last version was Microsoft Flight Simulator X and it was released in 2006 with a pedigree going back all the way to 1982 starting with Microsoft Flight Simulator 1.00.

This newest incarnation will be the 13th in the series and is being developed by Microsoft Studios, not to be confused with the Aces team which was broke up in 2009. This new simulator is rumored to sport DirectX 11 and use Games for Windows "Live" instead of Gamespy. Its also been rumored to use a micro transaction formula for additional content. Only time will tell if it lives up to its legendary past. Sign ups for the Beta are still open.

Follow the steps below on how to install Microsoft flight simulator xin compatibility mode:

1. Download the Microsoft flight simulator xfrom the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the Microsoft flight simulator xinstall and then check the functionality.
