Windows 10: Downloading photos to laptop from memory card

My husband bought me a new laptop for Christmas this year and I am having a terrible time trying to download pictures from my memory card. My laptop has Windows 10 installed on it. When I try to import pictures, I select the ones I want and then it will download a couple and then an error message comes up. It is so very frustrating and I spend hours upon hours trying to download pictures. Can you please please please help me. I have lots of family and I need to be able to take pictures and get them downloaded so I can share with family and friends. PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!

Import photos from SD Card in Photo Gallery using Autoplay

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Type Autoplay Settings in the Search box and press Enter.
• Under Choose Autoplay defaults, select the option required from the drop down list for
  Removable drive and Memory card and close the Window.
• Restart the system and check for status.

I suggest you to try importing the photos using photo app as below and check if it helps.

• In the search box type photo.
• Click on the photo app.
• On the right hand top corner click on import option.
• Before that you need to plug in SD card where you have saved the photos.
