Windows 10: Downloads Folder get Auto Formatting

Hello, When I open my Downloads Folder in File Explorer, it is automatically being formatted and organized by Dates / Times Frames. I'd like to control how this formatting is done, I also wish to Cut these Files from my HD and store some on a Flash Drive, again, I am not allowed to do this....Thanks -

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

How To Format A Write Protected Flash Memory ?

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

Need to format, can I transfer my Steam games or I need to download everything again?

• Back up the "steamapps" folder.
• Format.
• Install Steam.
• Login to your Steam account.
• Close Steam completely.
• Copy the "steamapps" folder back
• Done!
