Windows 10: Downloads not going into specified folder, but "archives", "installers", "images"

HiThis may not be connected to Windows. I have tried Googling the problem, but to no avail.I'm running Windows 10, and a few months ago there was a change in how files are downloaded on my computer. Before, they would simply go into my specified Downloads folder I'm using Chrome btw, but now some files will be placed into new folders within my Downloads folder, such as Archives, Installers and Images. I don't like this functionality at all, and I wonder if there's a way to prevent this from happening?

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

7zip force ignore NTFS junctions

I would suggest to go in two steps :

1. Generate a list of all the junctions in the folder
   
2. Create a 7Zip archive from the folder while excluding the files in the list.
   

For the first step, you may use the following command in a Command Prompt :

• /A displays all files with a specific attribute, and L specifies reparse points (symlinks and directory junctions)
  
• /S makes the command recursive
  
• /B specifies the bare format of only file names.
  

When zipping the folder use the
-x (Exclude filenames) switch :
