    "Downloads" pinned to Quick Start freezes Explorer when I download file with long name


    Hello everybody,When I download a file with a long name and try to access the "Downloads" folder pinned in Quick Access on Explorer, the program freezes. I have to go into the Task Manager and restart it. Then I have to navigate to Downloads from another way and rename that file. After that, when accessing the folder from the Quick Access, the problem is resolved. The weird thing is that it only happens when I try to open the folder pinned to Quick Access. Is there a way from stopping this from happening? A way to limit the maximum number of characters in file names?Thank you in advanced!!

    Pin FTP Location to Quick Access in Win Explorer


    I have a link to an FTP folder that I can not get to pin to Win Explorer Quick Launch. The shortcut appears in c:\users\[user name]\links but does not appear in the quick access list.

    Opening the file in Win Explorer and right clicking on "Quick access" with the option "pin to quick access" does nothing and there is no option in right click list to "pin to quick access" or even "pin to start" for a .lnk file.

    When you download a file through any browser, there's an option somewhere to 'Open Containing Folder.'

    In Windows, to find a file you have downloaded...

    1. Open your personal folder by clicking the Start button and then clicking your user name at the top of the Start menu's right pane.
    2. Double-click one of the following folders:
      • Downloads
      • Documents
      • Pictures
      • Videos
      • Music


    If you do not see the file you are looking for, but know its file name, you can search for it by following these steps:
    To search for a file you have downloaded...

    1. Click the Start button
    2. Type all or part of the file name into the Search box.
      The file you are looking for will appear in the list of results.
