  1. DPC Latency - Hard pagefaults - Driver errors

Hello I have been experiencing audio pops, drop outs from any application as well as lagging speeds whilst performing simple tasks. such as transfering a small file from one place to another

Hopefully someone can help out, this problem has been going for a couple of months now!

I use a Focusrite Clarett4PreUSB audio interface which runs fine with my macbook and have been through all the technical help steps focusrite support could provide already.

Here are the results from a Latency Mon test:

    CONCLUSION

    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.

LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for 0:26:31 h:mm:ss on all processors.

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES

    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. 2. DPC Latency Caused by Many drivers.

This is a very frustrating issue, and ive tried looking everywhere for fixes but cant find any. Here is some information below and i would appreciate any help. It causes many audio issues and can virtually not listen to any sort of audio.

  4. DPC Latency - Hard pagefaults - Driver errors

    DPC latency fixes?

Over the last 3 weeks or so I've been having audio cracking and a sort of lag on screen for about a second or so, and this occurs every couple of minutes or so, is there any fixes to this issue? I've run LatencyMon and here's my results.

    CONCLUSION

    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be
executing for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.

LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for 0:06:37 (h:mm:ss) on all processors.

    REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS

    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is
    interrupted and blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

Process with highest pagefault count: taskhostw.exe

Total number of hard pagefaults 1451

Hard pagefault count of hardest hit process: 524

    Number of processes hit: 26
