Windows 10: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION 133 Minidump. Computer entered sleep and could not wake up, had to...

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5. My original one had this same problem and eventually bricked itself so I got a replacement under warranty. My replacement has been fine but today after trying to wake from sleep it was not letting me, which is the problem I had with the original laptop. The laptop gets very hot and the power button pulses on and off but no matter what I do it does not wake up, making me have to hold the power button to do a hard restart. Though with this laptop, it actually left me a minidump file after I rebooted which did not happen with the original laptop before replacement.

Hi there,

I keep getting the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (133). I ran the minidump file through WinDbg, but I don't know how to proceed from there, and I was hoping that someone could help me.

I've been trying to fix this for a bit, so I've been going down a list of possible fixes for watchdog violations and for "\Driver\WUDFRd failed to load." Among the things I've done, I've checked for updates (everything seems to be up to date), I've tried adjusting Windows Driver Foundation (but I couldn't locate it), I've reinstalled all the USB controllers, and I even reset the PC.

I would appreciate any help!!

Hi,

Since a while now I get a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION after my computer wakes up from sleep. I analyzed the dump and it says that atapi.sys is the problem. I tried a lot of things to fix it but nothing works.

Maybe you guys can help me?

Hi Bill,

There's a possibility that the settings that enables your Space bar to wake your computer up from sleep was reset after updating Windows. If this what had happened, we suggest that you just re-set it up. See the steps below on how to do
so:

• Press Windows key and type keyboard in.
• Click on Keyboard option and a pop-up windows should show up.
• From there, go to > Hardware tab > Properties >
  Change settings > Power management > Allow this device to wake the computer >
  OK/Apply.

Try the if the steps did work and let us know any updates.
