Windows 10: DPC_Watchdog_Violation BSOD help when playing games

Hi, my PC recently got this DPC_Watchdog_Violation BSOD while I was playing games like CS:GO or GTA5. The BSOD comes unexpectedly in between 5 mins~2 hours of gaming it's really annoying.


FYI I've tried checking system files (sfc scannow), switching SATA/AHCI controllers both Intel and Windows default driver still got the BSOD.

• Does the BSOD occur while playing a particular game?
• Is the game downloaded from Windows Store?

I suggest you to update the Graphic Card drivers by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X, select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update.

DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

Hi Mattie,

The DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION blue screen error can be caused by a variety of hardware, firmware, driver, or software issues. Now, you mentioned that you already changed the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers to standard. Did you update the driver as well? And also,
are you getting the same blue screen error when you play other games? Or is it only occurring when you play a particular game?

BSOD when playing games windows 10

So when playing games, I am getting a BSOD. Tried a clean installation of NVIDIA drivers, but the problem appears to persist. BSOD message is DPC_Watchdog_violation. Here is a link to the memory dump:
