Hello everyone! So since the past month my PC has been freezing and eventually gives a BSOD with the error "DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION".Now I've tried google and tried various fixes like disabling Fast Startup etc and would like to know what's the issue before replacing components (looking at you , SSD). I've attached the zip needed.Attachment 116844

  2. DPC_Watchdog_Violation BSOD on windows 10

    Hi there,

Since upgrading my laptop to Windows 10 I have been encountering BSOD for DPC_Watchdog_Violation; This was happening occassionally but seems to be getting more frequent and happens 2-3 times a day now, I have checked all drivers are up to date using Lenovo
application and have carried out system scan with their support team. Minidump files and MSinfo file are stored below:

    BSOD info.zip (file://LAPTOP-GM2GHOOM/Users/david/OneDrive/BSOD%20info.zip)

I have noticed some of the minidump files have the same 4 numbers after the date, I dont know if this is relevant to the cause of the BSOD. I can provide more minidump files if required but have only provided the most recent 3, as requested, for now.

You are running illegal (not licensed) software. Please remove it then re-run dm_log_collector and post the resulting zip file.

You are bypassing the Adobe activation servers for a reason. That indicates use of pirated or unactivated Adobe software to me.

The last 3 dumps show a problem with nvlddmkm.sys.
Code: BugCheck 133, {0, 501, 500, 0} *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys Probably caused by : nvlddmkm.sys ( nvlddmkm+e049b )[/quote] You have driver version 376.48 dated 12/21/2016installed.

The Nvidia web site shows Version: 376.33 Date: 2016.12.14 as the latest for your 1070 card. Is 376.48 a beta driver?
Try down leveling to 376.33, see if that makes a difference.

I found version 376.48, and it's a hotfix, so best to put that back at some point. Follow these directions to do so.

Remove and install latest Nvidia drivers:
I suggest completely uninstalling the Nvidia display drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from WagnardMobile (near bottom of page) then get the 376.48 version.

Then do a custom install of only the Nvidia graphics driver and the PhysX driver. Also uninstall GeForce Experience.

See if that gets rid of the problem.
