    Discord Screen Sharing Issues

Recently I've been unable to stream Fortnite on Discord whenever Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Google Chrome is opened in the background.

This issue only occurs with Fortnite streams on Discord, and I've gone through numerous e-mails back and forth with support from them trying to resolve the issue with no success.

So far I've reinstalled Fortnite and Discord, tried testing streams on a separate local account, and also disabled all startup programs and attempted to stream - all without success.

I'm unsure what to do from here. I can stream any other game perfectly fine without any issues. If Edge is opened at any point while my PC is running, my Fortnite streams will not function at all, and they remain on a frozen "screenshot" of when I opened the game. With Firefox and Chrome, the stream will freeze while they are running, but the stream resumes once those browsers are closed.

It may be important to note that I am able to stream my monitor on Discord without any issue while browsers are open, but when I attempt to stream the program itself directly, it goes back to the frozen screenshot.

I'm running on an RTX 4090 and i9-13900K so I was thinking maybe these parts are too new to fully function with certain streams for games, but I just don't think that's the case anymore since it works with every other program. My drivers are updated, I am running on the latest Windows 10 update, and I am lost as to what to do next.

  3. My PC BSOD whenever i specifically run Battlefield 1, Listen to spotify, Be in voice chat on discord, and watch youtube or a discord stream at the same time.

around the end of may, i was playing battlefield 1, spotify music, discord vc, and watching a stream, after a bit my computer BSOD and gave this error "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDELED"(i was also on windows 10 at the time). I thought nothing of it till today, when while battlefield 1, spotify, youtube, and discord were playing it happened again with the same error ( on windows 11 now). i have the dump file but idk how to post it. i would love to know why this happens DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION when watching a shared stream on Discord :D

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP Blue Screens possibly with Discord Screen Share

I've begun having blue screen crashes with the message UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP error. The most reliable way to trigger this seems to be having a Discord call where I screen share to other callers while they screenshare to me and I watch that, but I haven't 100% ruled out other situations with other programs; I just don't have a reliable crash method. It takes roughly an hour or so of sharing to actually crash and the time does vary.

The earliest crash I have record of is on 3/22. No new hardware has been added.

    Three most recent crash mindumps:

    040122-4703-01.dmp

    040122-4859-01.dmp

    040222-10609-01.dmp

    System Info:

    Windows 10 Home 10.0.19044 Build 19044

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 4001 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980, Driver 512.15

    16 GB Ram

3 Drives. C: is a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB and the only one with anything on it right now. D: is simply listed as "Model ST1000DM003-1SB10C" amd E: is a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB.

    Discord is Stable 122087 (5c6d04c) Host 1.0.9004.

No Antivirus other than built-in Windows tools.

    Previous Troubleshooting steps:

*Ran Open Hardware Monitor - Core temp, fan speed and voltages in a free software gadget to get temperature readings; the crash happened with temperatures reading under 60 C.

    *Uninstalled and reinstalled Discord.

    *Ran chkdsk, no errors

*Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic, no errors

*Installed all optional updates on windows update

    *Used Driver Verifier as in

Redirecting : ran for 2-3 hours without crashing when streaming to an empty server. Once I got someone around to mutually stream to, it crashed within about 30 minutes. The crash message was unchanged; there was no DRIVER_VERIFIED_DETECTED_VIOLATION.
