  1. DPI scaling issues in Windows App Remote Desktop – no compatibility options?

Hello,I am contacting you on behalf of one of our users who works with a laptop and a widescreen monitor. When using the new Windows App for Remote Desktop link, we are experiencing severe resolution and DPI scaling issues. Applications, such as the Dutch application Multivers, become nearly unreadable. What we’ve investigated:There are no relevant settings within the Windows App to improve scaling or resolution.Local display settings are already correct and cannot be changed, as this would negatively impact other local applications e.g., CAD software. The Windows App is a modern app, not a

    Looking forward to your response.

  3. Is there a way to force DPI scaling?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Let me answer your query regarding DPI scaling.

Please be informed that you cannot force a DPI scaling on a particular app, right now there is no option to do that. If you have set a custom scaling level to 250% and if the app doesn’t support, to run the app, you have to disable
dpi scaling for that particular app.

You may follow the below steps and check.

    1. You may right-click the application’s shortcut and then click Properties.

    2. On the Compatibility tab, select “Disable Display Scaling on High DPI Settings” and then click OK.

    3. Now check if you can use the application.

Hope the information helps. Do reply if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.

Regarding High DPI Scaling Behavior In Windows 10 (p)

    Hi David,

High-DPI scaling improves the way Windows 10 handles automatic scaling per-monitor, which reduces the amount of blur or incorrect size for legacy apps. Here are the three scaling options:

    • System (Enhanced) will make the text and interface look crispier and elements will be sized correctly. This new option will override the way that a particular app handles the DPI scaling, which can result in interface elements and text
being blurry, and allows Windows 10 to take care of the scaling.
    • Application used to be referred as "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings." Using this option will force the app to run on a per-monitor DPI awareness.
    • When you enabled System, Windows 10 will stretch the interface, bitmap elements, and text will be blurry. This is the standard way Windows 10 handles scaling.

The new DPI scaling settings are only available for traditional desktop (GDI-based) apps. Windows Store apps cannot be configured with these options because they're already optimized for high pixel density displays.

Should you need additional information, do let us know.
