Windows 10: Drag and drop settings for touchpad: drop only on click lift

Hi, I noticed that when I drag and drop on my touchpad (xps 15) it drops the content once I lift my dragging finger. However, I want to set windows up to drop only when I lift the clicking finger. How can I do that? I tried all the settings but couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Drag and Drop

Hi Charles,

the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.

Touchpad Drag and Drop

I just got my new computer, the Inspiron 15 5000 Gaming laptop, and I'm trying to change my touchpad settings. I was to be able to double tap, drag, lift my finger off the key pad for a second, then continue to drag. I can't find the Dell Touchpad settings
link. Is there any way to change this?

Surface Book Touchpad - Drag & Drop not working in Outlook 2016

Hi everyone,

I'm a proud owner of the Surface Book with Redstone anniversary update. Works great, except for using the Toucpad for Drag & Drop:

clicking, holding the finger down and moving it before lifting it again works like expected to perform a Drag & Drop in most APps - just not in Outlook 2016 where I Need it most to move my email to Folders on the left.

Drag & Drop via the Touchpad

- works in OneNote 2016 + Word 2016 to move text

- works in Outlook 2010 to move emails

- does NOT work in Outlook 2016

If I use the Surface Pen instead, dragging with the Pen works in Outlook 2016. Also Ctrl+Shift+V works to move the mails via Keyboard. So it seems like only the
dragging via the Touchpad in Outlook 2016 does not work, while it works in Outlook via the Pen and in every other App with the Touchpad...

Any ideas how to solve this?
