Windows 10: dragging files from folder to desktop does not works

Hi i am a win10 user and i'd like to tell you my problem. When i open a folder and try to drag my file from folder for example jpg png or txt to move it to my desktop, it doesnt works, i cant get it out, is there any solving methods for this ?

Why does Windows 10 exit to parent folder up on dragging a file to a network folder?

Can you provide some reproduction steps so I can test it out in the lab? Correct me if I have this wrong:

• Open network folder ( \\server\folder\subfolder )
• Take a file from desktop, and drag it into the openeed folder
• The opened folder will jump up a level (to the "folder" in this example) after releasing

Is that right?

Hi Charles,

the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.
