    Drive is write protected and cant clear readonly or repair


    My computer crashed and booted to BIOS. All windows recovery and repair tools failed. I booted from an old sata drive. The drive I have is a 1 year old Samsung 970 evo m.2 nvme and it appears to be write protected. Diskpart does not appear to be able to clear thisDrive is write protected and cant clear readonly or repair :DISKPART> select disk 1 Disk 1 is now the selected disk.     Flash Drive is write protected

    See if you can clear the write protection using diskpart command.

    Code:
    Replace number zero with disk number of the flash drive.

    Removing Write Protection

    Have you tried diskpart?

    diskpart
    list disk
    select disk x
    attributes disk clear readonly


    Drive is write protected and cant clear readonly or repair [​IMG]


    Setting readonly on a friend's flash drive is also a fun and quite simple prank. (Only works on NTFS, not FAT)

    How to Remove Write-Protection from an OEM USB Drive?

    I did all that. After I entered, "ATTRIBUTES DISK CLEAR READONLY", I didnt get a prompt stating that the write protect has been removed. But the command prompt stated that disk attributes cleared successfully.

    But when I tried to format the USB drive I get a pop up window stating that its still write-protected. Do you have any other suggestions?
