Windows 10: Drive mapping fails with Windows 10 but not Windows 11

I have been using a NAS with multiple systems Windows 10, Windows 11, MacOS and 1 GBe NIC for several years. Recently I added 10 Gbe NICs to the NAS and the Windows 10 system because it often requires a lot of network bandwidth. The system has been configured with Jumbo frames and everything seems to be working fine on all of my systems. However I noticed a separate issue which I wanted to debug using only 1 Gbe, so I disconnected the 10GBe switch and routed everything back through the original 1 Gbe switch. At this point I noticed that my Windows 10 system would no longer map a network driv

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
