Windows 10: Drive not recognized in Windows setup

I just installed new graphics card and SSD Samsung Evo 1TB on my HP z640 desktop, and ever since I cannot get my PC to boot up. I was getting “Boot device not found, please install an operating system on your hard disk” errors, and I figured that my old drive or at least my copy of Windows 10 had somehow gotten corrupted, and obviously the new one does not have Windows installed. I removed the old drive and have tried reinstalling Windows 10 from a bootable USB to the new one. I have also tried this with the old SSD in, aswell as both together. When I get to the setup page, it does not l

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

 

SATA drive not being recognized on Gigabyte Mobo

After I updated the BIOS to the latest version 8 I was able to have the SATA recognized.
After running sfc /scannow for maintenance I can't get the SATA drive to boot first. It is recognized in the BIOS and is listed first in the boot order under Advanced BIOS Features.

When the IDE drive boots it is not recognized in either Windows Explorer or disk management.

Any thoughts on why I can't see the SATA drive anymore would be appreciated.

You posted that you would try the suggested steps by Tryx3. May we have an update if the suggested steps have resolved the issue about your SD card being recognized as a fixed drive in Windows 10?
