Windows 10: Driver error for Xbox controller on windows 10

My xbox controller recently disconnected and won't connect with the reason being that there is a driver error. When I go on device manager it shows it next to a yellow triangle with and exclamation mark in other words a warning sign. When I right click and click update driver, automatically search for drivers online, but it say that it found a driver but cannot perform the installation at this time. I then try manually and select let me pick and choose xbox peripherals but also promts me to the same error message. When I try and update drivers through intel website it updates some of them but doesnt for most of them and gives an error message. When I go on settings and go to bluetooth it shows the controller and under it, it says driver error this is for my wired controller but my wireless controller has the same sort of error but the doesnt have the warning sign in device manager but says that it is paired in the bluetooth tab in setting but yet the controller still flashes signifying that it has not connected. Both controllers connect perfectly well to my xbox, the wireless one also connects to my phone which means it is definately something wrong with my laptop. Before all of it happened it would connect perfectly fine without and issue. Looking forward to a reply, Thank You

There are several reasons why your Xbox One controller is detected as an Xbox 360 controller by your PC. It is possible that the controller is not updated or if you previously used an Xbox 360 controller on the PC, it is still detecting its drivers instead
of the Xbox One controller drivers. To properly isolate your concern, please clarify the following information:

• Have you used an Xbox 360 controller on the same computer before?
• Does the error message occur on all of the games that you play?
• Have you tried to update the controller?
• Are you using an Xbox One Elite controller?

Wireless Xbox One controller requires PIN for Windows 10.

Hi,

You will be asked for a PIN when connecting your wireless Xbox One controller via Bluetooth on Windows 10 if your Bluetooth drivers are not updated. It is also possible that you have to reset the controller to remove the PIN. To resolve your concern, restart
your controller by following the steps below:

• Power off the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the controller for 6 seconds.
• Press the Xbox button again to power it back on.
• Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller to your PC using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
