Windows 10: DRIVER FILES FOR sAMSUNG S9 PORTABLE USB 3 HARD DISC

AM 80 YEARS OLD AND HAVE STORED A WHOLE BUBCH OF PHOTOS OF A FEW OVERSEAS TRIPS ON A SAMSUNG S3 PORTABLE USB 3 HARD DISC AND UP UNTIL LAST YEAR THE DRIVE WORKED PERFECTLY NOW IT IS NOT ABLE TO BE READ. IT IS THE SAME PC FROM 2020 AND ONLY WINDOWS UPDATES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. mY SON WHO LIVES IN CANBERRA SAYS TO GET A MAC AS HE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND BOUGHT A MAC WITH A M3 DESKTOP FOR WORK AS IT IS ABLE TO READ MOST ANYTHING THEY HAVE IN THE CIVIL ENGINEERING CO HE WORKS FOR.

Portable hard drive and windows 10

Try the steps listed here:

Method 1:

I suggest you to run hardware troubleshooter and check if it helps.

a) Press Windows Key.

b) Type Troubleshooting in the search box and hit
Enter.

c) Click on Hardware and sound.

d) Click on Hardware and device and follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to install all the available Windows Updates and also latest chipset driver from the computer manufacturer website. You may also try connecting the hard drive to a different USB port.

Samsung M3 Portable Hard Drive doesn't like Windows 10

Hi Deepak

I have the same issue. I just bought a Samsung M3 portable 1tb drive. It is not recognised by the PC. I have checked the drivers on the motherboard and the external drive shows up on the device list of the motherboard as a disconnected device, but Win
10 will not recognise it in file explorer.

So I know the issue is not my motherboard. It must be windows 10. I can't uninstall the USB device from device manager because it is simply not listed in the devices.

What can the problem be here?
