Windows 10: Driver Installation Failed

All was good with my machine until Microsoft did an update on Saturday 11-10-19. After restart, I noticed that I didn't have any sound. I am running WIndows 10 Pro from an online update several years ago from Windows 7. Intel Core i7 processor and Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS.


Device manager shows a yellow triangle with exclamation mark next to "PCI Input Device".





After trying to reinstall drivers I get this.





I go back into device manager and see that the PCI under "Sounds , Video, and Game Controllers is gone but "Unknown Device" has appeared.





Click "update driver" and I am back to square one.





Went to Creative's website and downloaded the driver set for this card and that didn't help. Please tell me that I need to reinstall Windows 10 because I don't want to take chance on losing ANYTHING in this computer. I use this for my home based business.


I had sound before the update so not sure what happened with this update but it has totally messed up my sound that I need.


Any advice?

KB4025339 Fails Install 0x80070564

I am trying Eagle 51's suggestions now. Windows Update troubleshooter found a bunch of errors and fixed all but one.The update is trying to download KB4025339 again. I'll see what happens. At step one troubleshooter finishes with one error unresolved "Potential Windows Update Database Error Detected-Not Fixed". Windows update stalled at 0%.

At step 2 same troubleshooter error. The KB finished a new download failed to install.
Did step 3 KB has downloaded but fails to install.

If Eagle's suggestion doesn't work I'll try EdTittel's suggestion

Tried bothe Eagle & Ed 's suggestions - do not work. Anyone else?

I have noticed that the latest update for my nvidia drivers has failed to update. Wondering about that!

 

I cant get drivers to install

Read my guide, goes step buy step for nvidia driver install. Though I use a different driver cause I got 8 series, same method of installation

If you having an issue installing a driver that worked before you formatted or wont install on a fresh build, sometimes this means hardware damage
