    Hi,

So recently I've been having some BSOD, almost everyday for a week, and almost all of them were caused by the same issue: Driver IRQL Not Less Or Equal (Syntp.sys).
I know that syntp.sys are the Synaptics drivers so I tried to unistall them and reinstall and it didnt work, tried to install from the official website, my computer manufacturer but all kept gaving me the BSOD. I could use the generic drivers but they lack a lot of functions that I use. I also decided to install BlueScreen View and all of the BSOD also had ntoskrnl.exe as part of the crash, though I'm not very familiar with that file.

    Here are the dump files:

Driver IRQL not less or equal

I've been getting this error randomly and inconsistently when using my PC. After much googling I've ended up running the following diagnostics:

    1) Running MemTest to confirm it's not a physical RAM issue (it's not, 2 passes over 4 hours with no errors)

    2) SFC Checks

    3) DSIM Checks

    4) Running the driver 'verifier'

The first 3 came up all clear.

The driver verifier actually caused me to crash immediately after booting, didn't even get to the sign in screen. I booted into safe mode and found the DMP files, here they are: Shared items 2-18-2018 1

When I got the blue screen from the stress test on the drivers, it didn't let me know what driver was causing the crash, so I can't report on that.

If you try Touchpad driver (19.0.24.1) for Win10 64-bit version Dated 2016/3/8 from CLEVO Driver Download, does it still BSOD? Please try it and let us see.

Also, Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto-start with it; but they can conflict which may cause various issues including randm crashes including BSODs.

    • Right click on the taskbar and click on "Task Manager" in the context menu.
    • It will open Task Manager with "Processes" tab selected. Click on the "Startup" tab.
    • Select them all one by one and click "Disable" at the bottom right corner.
    • Disable everything there other than the SynTPEnh.
See how it goes. Let us know.

And, uninstall Daemon Tools. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

    • Double click to open it.
    • Click this button only:

    • Driver IRQL Not Less Or Equal (SynTP.sys) [IMG]
    • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Windows 10 can load any sort of disk image in windows explorer. Worst BSOD causer like Daemon Tools is totally unneeded in Windows 10.

  5. Yes, I tried the Touchpad driver (19.0.24.1) for Win10 64-bit from the CLEVO website and I still got BSOD.

I just freed everything except SynTPEnh from the Windows startup (btw I don't get the BSOD at the startup, it just happens randomly while my laptop is on).
I unistalled Daemon Tools but can't manage to run SPTD, neither the x32 or x64 versions, both say they are not supported.

Right now I managed to find an older version of the Synaptics Driver (16.2.21.0) and installed it (weirdly I managed to install this one but the one from the Synpatics website, which is the most recent one, I can't install).

Do you think I should keep this one or install the one from CLEVO again?

If you use the driver from Synaptics, you will loss some functionalities. If you use the drivers from the OEM vendor, then the touchpad will be fully functional.

But if the OEM driver is causing issues and the Synaptics driver is not, then you should stick with the Synaptics supplied driver.

If a lot of programs are running in the background all the times, the possibility of conflicts increase, and so it is better to have the startup folder as clean as possible.

  7. Yeah I do lose some functionalities that are useful, but I think it's better just to play safe.

Thanks for the help! If I get the BSOD again, I'll hit you back.

Driver IRQL Not Less Or Equal (SynTP.sys)

Well, but not too hard! *Biggrin

  9. I'm back! But this time it's a different problem. It's not even related to BSOD, but is close, so I decided to write here.

4 days ago my computer just froze out of nowhere and I had to reboot it manually, but I thought that it was related to the drivers problem so I just forgot about it.
Today it happened again while I was watching a movie.

I dunno why it froze, I only have the computer for 2 weeks and I'm already sick of so many problems. If you could help me again sort out this problem, I would be very appreciated ^^

If you need any kind of extra info about my laptop say.

I would suggest you to get the display drivers Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M from CLEVO Driver Download only.

  11. Are you talking about the VGA drivers?

If so, then the Intel one I already have installed and the Nvidia I have a more recent version from the GeForce website.

Yes, the VGA drivers and specially the nvidia one.
Never use the nvidia drivers form any source other than the OEM manufacturers.
    Why?

Let us understand it using the case of 364.72 WHQL. In the Supported products page, we can see that it supports your nvidia chip .... Attachment 74951But if we look at the highlights page: Attachment 74952If the nvidia driver is installed form any other source, such issues may occur (or even bigger issues; discussions about it will take a long time).

Uninstall the nvidia driver using Display Driver Uninstaller and install it from the OEM's site.

Report us for any further issue.

Didn't know that. Thanks man, you're the best!

    Gonna do that right now.

Thanks so much for the help and patience *Biggrin
