Windows 10: Driver Issue on my Laptop

I am using a Lenovo ThinkPad E550, and I am having issues with my touchpad driver. Every 2 days, I have to uninstall and reinstall the driver, to enable scrolling, and gesture controls. For whatever reason, it just stops working after 2 days. I've tried completely uninstalling the driver, and reinstalling it, to no avail. Is there anything I could do to make it keep working beyond two days?

Intel HD Graphics driver issue on Toshiba Laptop

Hi Greg,

We appreciate the details that you have provided and the effort you put through to try to fix the issue. It's possible that what's causing this error is driver incompatibility.

Since reinstalling the drivers didn't resolve the issue, what we suggest is that you run the hardware troubleshooter. The
Hardware Troubleshooter is an automated tool which will check the hardware connected to the computer for any known issues with it and provides the details and on how to fix them. Follow these steps:

• Press Windows key to get the Start menu.
• Type Troubleshooting in the search box right up corner and hit enter.
• Click on Troubleshooting tab.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
• Select the Hardware and Devices options from the list.
• Click Next to run the Hardware Troubleshooter.

We also suggest that you check your laptop manufacturer's website for their latest driver version.

Laptop driver/reformat question

This is excellent advice. Writing down the list of installed devices prior to re-formatting will save you a lot of heartache. With that list, you won't have to try to figure out exactly which wireless card or web cam driver you need since there will likely be several to choose from.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
