Windows 10: Driver issues: Error 31

Hi, I'm having trouble with my drivers, I installed new graphics card drivers earlier today for my AMD Radeon 6800M based on the auto detect option on my manufacturers website. This caused some issues, namely lag in games, and when I checked my drivers in device manager, i got this error: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. Code 31 The I/O device is configured incorrectly or the configuration parameters to the driver are incorrect.How do I fix this?Any help would be greatly appreciated :

Method 1:

Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Follow these steps to run Power troubleshooter.

a. Press Windows key + W and type
troubleshooting.

b. Select Troubleshooting.

c. Select view all on the top left corner.

d. Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

If the above method does not fix the issue, the follow method 2.



Method 2:

I would suggest you to uninstall all the USB drivers listed in device manager and then restart your computer.

Follow these steps to uninstall the USB drivers.

a. Press Windows key + X key and click on
Device manager.

b. Search for Universal Serial Bus Controllers
and expand it.

c. Right-click on the USB driver and click on
Uninstall.

d. Uninstall each one of the drivers listed.

Now restart the computer to reinstall all the drivers.



If the issue persists, then install the latest chipset drivers from the manufacturer's website and check if it helps.

Wireless mouse "driver is unavailable" issues

The error Driver is unavailable means that there is no available driver installed for your mouse that’s why it is not working. We suggest that you check the mouse driver from the device manager. Follow the steps below:

• Open Device Manager.
• Look for Mice and other pointing devices and click it to expand.
• Check if there is a driver for the wireless mouse.

If there is none, we suggest that you visit the manufacturer’s website of the mouse and download then install the latest mouse driver compatible to Windows 10.
