My hard drive had over 100 GB of data. Then I had to reinstall windows due to a system error, and now my hard drive shows 736 MB free of 12.7 GB. I need help, as it's not a partition problem, and I can't find the solution anywhere else

MS Money Plus Sunset 100 GB Size?

I recently upgraded to Windows 10. MS Money Plus Sunset works fine on my computer. Today, I was looking at a feature in Windows 10 that shows program and app sizes. MS Money Plus Sunset is shown to be 100 GB in size! I looked at my older computer that
also has been upgraded to Windows 10 and it shows the program being 100 GB in size too. I took down the size of files on my main drive and then went to Control Panel Uninstall Programs. This program indicates that it is 100 GB in size here too. I uninstalled
the program and noted that it was no longer listed in the list of programs. When I check the size of files on my main drive, it is about the same, no where near 100 GB removed. So, I reinstalled the program and it again indicates it is 100 GB in size, but
no increase in file usage shows up when I check after re-installation.

So, my question is: Does this program really take 100 GB or is there an error in how this particular program displays its size?

Can someone else using this program check what Windows 10 thinks its size is? Use settings -> apps and features for a list of programs listed by size, or simply go to the uninstall program page of the control panel. Both of these setting show my MS Money
being 100 GB in size. But I can't find where that usage is being consumed. Odd.

More than 6 GB of RAM of 16 GB missing

    I have a fast W10 64bit 16GB RAM pc.

Task Manager shows me around 900 MB used for Me as as user, no other user accounts on the pc, the list I can see also adds up to around that, "Everything" taking around 470 MB, Antimalware 140 MB, Windows Explorer 42 MB, etc., it quickly goes down to processes
not using more than 5 MB, than 1 MB, and the list is not endless, I can clearly see (without adding one-by-one) that the about 870 MB my user account takes, according to the Task Manager, are more or less correct, certainly not above 1 GB, from 16.

According to the Task Manager, just 45 % of memory is free though:

    182 Processes, 2680 Thread, 70,000 Handlers, CPU 1 %.

Available memory 7.3 GB of 15.9 GB = 45 %, this remains stable, before I start any other program.

In use (compressed) 6,9 GB (0 MB)

Committed 7.7 GB of 18.3 GB (my graphics card also has 2 GB, so this might explain the difference between 16 and 18.3).

    Pages pool 184 MB

    Non-pages pool 176 MB.

So does W10 64 bit really need, above the user account's less than 1 GB, another almost 7 GB, so that from my 16 GB, just 7.7 GB remain usable for my software (except for "Everything"'s 470 MB)?

I had installed, and de-installed (!), 2 RAM-Disks some weeks ago, and I don't see any residuals from them, but could them be the culprits? Wouldn't that be shown in the above numbers?

Is Windows really that bad, or might I have non-Windows problems on my pc?

640 GB Drive showing as 127 GB?

I'm trying to install XP on my new 640 GB Western Digital SE16 drive... however when I boot with the XP disk, it only shows a 127 GB drive with the 640 GB drive plugged in... what is going on?

When I boot into XP on my existing installation on my 250 GB hard drive, the Local Disk Management utlity recognies the 640 GB hard drive and I can even format it... and acess it within windows, but when I boot into the disk again, its still 127 GB...

What am I supposed to do? Its my first time getting a new hard drive... 0_0

and no, there is no unpartitioned space that accounts for the rest of the space on the 640 GB drive... its just the 127 GB partition that shows up
