Windows 10: DRM on bought movies

I have already bought Brave from Moves & TV and I downloaded it. I thought it can be transferred to my personal device and watch it everywhere. However, I found the downloaded movie is protected by DRM, so I can't open it in any other applicaitons.I wonder if it is really necessary to add a DRM on bought movie I can't even play it in WMP.

N8 and DRM Protected Movies

Will the N8 play the digital copies of movies that come with many Blu-rays these days? On the spec. sheet, DRM support is only listed under Music Features and therefore I am not clear whether video is also supported.

 

Can't download the movie I purchased for rental.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to download rented movies offline and check if that helps.

Steps:

1. Select the movie you want to rent and click on
   rent option.
2. Login using Microsoft account.
3. Once you have signed in, you will have two option
   to stream or download movies to this device to watch offline.
4. Select download movies to this device to watch offline and click on next.
5. After Choosing the Next option and you will be asked for the payment option.
6. Once the payment it done, open Movies & TV application to download the movie.

You will be able to watch the movie offline from
Movies and TV application. When you rent, the viewing period is 14 days from the time of your order or 24-48 hours from the time you start to watch (depending on the content you select), whichever comes first.



If you still facing issues downloading the movies after following the above steps. I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below, to fix issues with Microsoft store.



Steps:

• 1. Open store application on your pc.
  2. Click on the ellipses on right top corner of the screen.
  3. Logout and login back.

DRM for my ZUNE

Hi,

Since that, you're receiving an "Access Denied" error message when trying to reset DRM, we suggest restarting your computer in Safe Mode and log in as the computer administrator. To boot your PC in Safe Mode, please click

here.

Once your PC is in Safe Mode, Reset Windows Media DRM by deleting all the files in the Windows Media DRM folder. Note that the Windows Media DRM folder is a hidden system folder. To view hidden files and folders, follow
these steps:

• Click Start, and then click My Computer.
• On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the
  View tab.
• Click Show hidden files and folders, and then click to clear the
  Hide protected operating system files check box.

Here's how to locate and open the DRM folder:

• Press Windows+R.
• Type regedit and press Enter.
• Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DRM\DataPath
  folder.
• By default, the path is displayed in binary format. To see the path in plain-text format, double-click
  DataPath.
• In the Edit Binary Value dialog box, the location of the
  DRM folder is at the column on the right.
• Select all the files in the DRM folder and press the
  Delete button.
