Windows 10: DTS Issue with HDMI

I have a Yamaha AV Receiver and I'm trying to get it to decode DTS for 7.1The issue I'm having is that my Graphics card RX 480 seems to detect what the receiver can support, but I can't select anything???Meanwhile I noticed that I have a Realtek Digital output... Which will actually allow me to select different modes to send out. But nothing on my motherboard related to audio is S/PDIF digital, only analog output and inputs.The only analog outputs my motherboard have are the: Red, blue and green 3.5mm jacks.I'm pretty puzzled on how to send out this DTS signal... Is there a way to do it thou

I would like to help you:

I suggest you follow the steps below and check if it helps.

If you’re connecting an optical cable the settings would be changed so try the following steps

Two options:

1. Use the optical S/PDIF output of your motherboard.

2. Use the HDMI output of your GPU. (This is what I'd recommend if you're using an HDMI display).

I suggest you follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Go to the control panel.

Select sound.

Click on playback devices.

For option 1- connect the cable and set the 'Realtek digital output' as a default device.

Then right click on it.

Go to properties.

At the rightmost tab select DTS or Dolby Digital or 5.1.

For option 2-connect the HDMI cable through the receiver and set the 'Nvidia HDMI Output' as your default device. Then click 'Configure' and select 5.1 and check if it helps.

If the issue persist then, I suggest you to connect the speakers directly and check in the Msi gaming m5 z370 audio manager if he gets the 5.1 option or not using the SPDIF\output.

DTS Audio Control and headphone plug

Hi Terry,

This issue with the DTS Audio Control can be caused by system corruption on the application itself. As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest that you uninstall the application. Here's how:

• Type DTS in the search field at the task bar.
• Right-click on the DTS Audio Control in the results.
• Click Uninstall.
• Once done, proceed with installing it back.

You can also check out with HP as the manufacturer of this application for any updated drivers that can help to resolve the issue.

You may try to plug in the headphone again once the issue has been resolved. If it is the same, try a different headphone and let us know about the results.
