Dual boot Windows 10 Enterprise and Home

    Hi,

I would like to dual boot Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Home.
Would that be possible as my college has tons of things installed and enforced on my own PC, such as symantec endpoint protection etc.. Hence I would like to dual boot.
    Please advice.

    Thanks

    :)

  2. Testing Windows 10 Creators Update on seperate partition

Yes, you can set up a separate partition to install and test the Windows 10 Creators Update. In fact, it will even activate.

Please note, when you are done testing, you will need to open Disk Management, right click the partition then delete it.

You have the option of using Windows 10 Home or Pro then perform a keyless install or you can download the Windows 10 Enterprise Creators Update 90 day trial then install it there.

See instructions in the following article how to setup a partition.

From a technical standpoint this is doable. I won't go into that.
But you would need to talk to the college IT staff about this. I expect they would say no. As they should.

Dual booting has some serious security implications. It essentially provides a back door into the computer over which the college would have no control. This would largely nullify the security they have worked so hard to achieve. I can't see the IT staff allowing that.

This forum cannot help with evading the security set in place by your college.

FWIW, I am running a test machine with a dual boot of Windows 10 Enterprise Insider and a plain-vanilla Build 1607 version of Windows 10 Pro. Should indeed be doable with Home and Enterprise instead. Main thing is to disconnect the other boot drive whenever performing a clean install of the current OS (that is disconnect Enterprise when installing home, and vice-versa).

The question is, whose computer is it? Is the computer owned by @fuzeee or is it owned by the college? Is the Enterprise edition of Windows 10 required by the college to connect to their network, or is it installed on the computer because the computer is owned by the college? If @fuzeee owns the computer, then the question becomes will the college allow the computer to connect to their network if he installs a second OS on it?

The computer belongs to me, but my college needs to install enterprise because there's a domain network and in order to use the school's intranet and Internet, they have check point identity agent installed and some other software that I need for classes.

Yep - so the first step would be to see if the agreement to connect to the college network prohibits installing a second OS for use on the computer when it is not connected to their domain.
