    I hated 8.1 after I installed it a year ago. Now want to dual boot win 7 & 10 - How can I safely uninstall 8.1?
    And then can I do a dual boot - 7 & 10, getting the win 10 download via the update?

    Remove Dual Boot Setup "Windows 7 and Windows 8.1" Upgraged Windows 8.1 to Windows 10

    Hello everyone, I have a problem;

    I'm running a Dual Boot Setup "Win 7 and Win 8.1" then I proceeded to upgrade Win 8.1 to Win 10. Now my current setup is still dual boot, Windows 7 and Windows 10. I'm satisfied with Windows 10 and want to Remove, Uninstall or Delete Win 7.

    Can someone help ? without me having to NUKE my system and Reinstall.

    Regards,

  3. Fall Creators update kills bootloader on dual boot systems

    My system is a regular BIOS system, it is not UEFI. My current motherboard is UEFI capable, but since the dual boot configuration was originally Windows 7 & Kubuntu, I have kept it a BIOS system. Every single major upgrade has clobbered the dual boot configuration
    in one way or another: Win 7 => Win 8.0, Win 8.0 => Win 8.1, Win 8.1 => Win 10 version 1507, 1507 => 1511, 1511 => 1607, 1607 => 1703, & 1703 => 1709.

    dual boot with win 7 & 8.1 - how to uninstall 8.1?

    You could remove the partition for Win 8.1, then you should just have Win 7. Believe the letter of the law (EULA) you can't use Win 7 and 10 on the same license, there's been much discussion on that since physically a dual boot wouldn't allow you to run both at the same time. IMO MS never intended W10 upgrade to be a "two for one", it's one or the other. When you change to W10 your license is then associated with that OS.

    UPGRADE your windows 8.1 installation to windows 10

    Thus keeping the dual boot = windows 7 and now windows 10

    Better off upgrading using the ISO method..
