Windows 10: dual booted 10 along side another windows 10 partition issue

ok i have 2 windows 10 partitions

1 a 2tb hardrive witch is my main partition
2 a 1tb partition also running windows 10

it let me witch between my main one to volume 5 witch is the one im on now but the boot menu wont give me the option to revert back to my other windows 10 partition here is a image of the volumes





the one selected is the one i want to go back to volume 2
the one im currently on is volume 5 but there is no option to go back to volume 2 in the boot menu and i dont understand why when i installed them both the same way.

any help would be much appeicated thanks 5

Dual boot with Ubuntu

I have a dual boot system with windows 8.1 and Ubuntu side by side, both on different partitions.

I have heard rumours about windows deleting the Ubuntu partitions during some update process or such.

Is there any possibility of happening that if I try to update 8.1 to windows 10 from a ISO or through another process?

Obviously, I don't want to lose any of the data on the process let alone Ubuntu along with it.

Thank you for keeping us updated.

You may want to install Windows 10 in another partition which is also called dual boot along with Windows 7 and check if everything works fine with Windows 10 while you are still using Windows 7.

You may refer to suggestions provided by Andre Da Costa in order to dual boot Windows 10 with Windows 7

Try using EasyBCD to create the other W10 entry on the boot screen.

This is 1 hard drive with 2 separate W10 installs on 2 separate partitions correct ?

 

In a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) run:

bcdboot E:\Windows /addlast /d

that's all you have to do.
