Dual Booted successfully, but OS Boot Mngr Prefers to Boot Windows10

I've Dual Booted a Clients computer so that it would Have selection Options between Kali Linux and Windows 10, but despite updating the BIOs and enabling legacy Mode, neither of these two allows for the Priority of the Grub Menu to be set. As the Windows Boot loader appears to be the Priority every time. I have been thinking about "removing windows Boot manager," but I don't want to risk disabling Windows entirely, so I'm not particularly sure what's halting this specific load out from happening automatically, like the dual boots that I've set up on other computers before. So if anybody would know a way to fix this I'd appreciate it.

    :)

  2. Colour Windows 10 dual boot OS selection screen

    Hi,

As you have a dual boot, with Windows 10 installed successfully. I would like to inform you that, under the boot section option were system is booted with preference is normal with the default background screen as black. If at all the background screen
during the boot option is of different color, which would be set by the manufacturer.

So if you prefer a different background color for the boot section, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer.

Hope it helps. Kindly update the status of booting the operating system to desktop for further assistance. We will be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

  3. Dual boot in windows10

Have you created a partition to install Windows 10?

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Disk Management

Select the system partition, right click it then click partition

Follow the instructions as described in the following article how to create a simple partition:

How to Create a Simple Partition in Windows 7 (Quick Tip)

References Windows 7, but the same instructions work for Windows 10.

After the partition is created, you will need to boot from the Windows 10 64 bit install media then select the partition you created during setup.

Look at step #3 here. Not too familiar with Linux, but I've used the bcdedit command a few times.

Just re-install Grub. It will chain-load Windows. The bios has nothing to do with the bootloader.. it will boot whichever it is assigned in the MBR.
