    Dual booting on Surface Pro 6


    I have a surface pro 6 and ive installed windows server 2016 on it. However every time i boot into Server 2016, it makes a low audible sound that repeats over and over. The best way to describe the sound is making the “p” sound softly with your lips. And when i boot back into windows 10, the sound disappears. It only shows up when Server 2016 is running. I already tried uninstalling server 2016 and reinstalling it but the sound still comes back. What could this be?

    Surface pro 2017 stuck at boot

    The Linux GRUB bootloader may be interfering. I would always add linux to the Windows Boot Manager:

    Hello Jimmy, Dual booting on Surface Pro 6 :)

    This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

    *Arrow Boot Microsoft Surface from a USB device

    Otherwise, you should be able to use OPTION ONE below to boot from the USB from advanced startup.
