Windows 10: dual external monitors only mirror each other on Lenovo thinkpad

Just purchased the Lenovo thinkpad and it will only mirror monitors when using an HDMI splitter. USB-c hub only recognizes USB and not anything plugged into the HDMI slots. What am i doing wrong? I have tried to detect the moniors and it wont. Will only when plugged into the HDMI slot and the two moniotrs show as 1

Dual monitors will mirror won't extend!

Have a new HP slim desktop. Want to run dual monitors. Both are hooked up and will mirror. Will not detect the second monitor to be able to extend.

 

Lenovo Recalls 208,000 ThinkPad Batteries

On March 1, 2007, Lenovo voluntarily recalled certain 208,000 9-cell lithium-ion batteries. These batteries were manufactured for use with ThinkPad notebook computers that shipped worldwide between November 2005 and February 2007. All ThinkPad R60, R60e Series, ThinkPad T60, T60p Series and ThinkPad Z60m, Z61e, Z61m, and Z61p Series with 9-cell 10.8V, 5.2 Ah batteries with part number FRU P/N 92P1131 are being recalled. All affected batteries will be replaced free of charge. Lenovo suggests those computers with defective units remove the battery and use the AC adaptor until a replacement has arrived.

Lenovo Thinkpad HDMI Dual Monitor Set up Issue with Windows 10

I run a thinkpad x1 carbon and have an asus HDMI monitor run through a lenovo 3.0 port replicator for a dual monitor set up. I just updated to windows 10 and now my asus monitor does not work. I run my wireless mouse and keyboard through the port replicator,
which still responds. I have an intel(R) HD Graphics 5500 graphics card. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics card to get the 2nd monitor to respond with no luck. I have seen a few threads about issues with dual monitor set ups once updating
to windows 10 but I haven't been able to find a solution yet.

Does anyone have any ideas?
