Dual Logons after renaming system from Win 8 to Win 10

Before upgrading, I had one logon for Win 8.1 and had it set to auto log on at Windows start.
When I upgraded to Win 10 it was OK and the same way.
I renamed the system Win10 (from Win8) and now there are two logons at startup, my original and a second "Jack". The second is stopping the auto logon as Win10 defaults to the "Jack" account. I have to manually select my original account (listed as my Hotmail address) and manually enter the password.

How do I delete the "Jack" account from the startup? Its not listed under accounts, only my original one.

    :)

win 10 x64 boots slower than win 8

I have a dual boot setup with the above-mentioned OS versions.

I upgraded win 8.1 x64 through the versions to win 10 build 10240. Boot time from the OS selection screen is much longer on win 10 before the logon screen appears. Win 8 seems only a couple of seconds for the lock screen to appear but win 10 seems to be
    about 30 seconds.

Any way to speed this up?

  3. Reverse My Windows 10 Upgrade

After my upgrade I am not able to log in, this is due to that fact that I only had the administrator logon enabled and no other logon existed.

Windows 10 Pro free upgrade disables the admin logon, so now no functional logons exist.

Yup it sux!!! It should have asked me to create a new account in this situation.....

Anyhow, I want to reverse the entire upgrade at this point, its better than format and install from scratch....

Can it be done from ISO boot or some other way when I cannot logon??

The system is dual boot btw.

Windows 7 Pro and Win 8.1 Pro

I only upgraded the Win 8.1 Pro side, so the Win 7p side is still fully functional.

I just want to return to what I had and start over.....

Where did you "rename" the system?

Changing the computer name shouldn't affect anything account wise....

I just renamed the System drive (C) from Win8 to Win10. That's the only thing I've done and can think of that may have caused the second login name.

I'm seeing "JAX10/Jack" but I have no idea where the JAX10 came from unless it may be from the Win 10 preview version on another PC???

Try *Start + R, type netplwiz and then toggle off and on the field that says "users must enter a password"

Give us a screenshot of netplwiz ...

The JAX10 is most likely the computer name - right click start, choose system and look at that.

Recycling off and on "users must enter a password" seems to have fixed it. I did a restart and it worked, then I did a power off/on and it worked OK.

    Thanks/Jack
