Windows 10: Dual Monitor Issue - Please Help!

I'm starting a new job working from home soon. I want dual monitors. I have an HP monitor/tower desktop setup. But also just bought a new HP laptop and want to use it as a dual screen. The desktop monitor uses HDMI to CPU. I ordered a 15 pin VGI cable with an HDMI because that's the only port left on CPU to use. I've plugged VGI to CPU and plugged HDMI into laptop. PROBLEM: Main monitor goes crazy! It blinks off/on. Keeps making the noise as though something is being unplugged, and doesn't allow me to do anything.


The laptop second monitor isn't able to detect a second monitor when I go into display only going there because I can't do anything on other screen because it's acting crazy. Just to see, I plugged up laptop to my TV monitor and dual screen works perfectly, well, almost except for no sound, but I can figure that later. Don't want to use TV monitor, tho. Want to use laptop.


Any ideas why it won't work with my desktop >laptop, but works fine from laptop > tv monitor?? I sure would appreciate any suggestions/advise/guidance on this. Been trying to figure it out all week long.

I understand that you are unable to use Dual monitors on the computer after updating Radeon software. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

• Do you see the second monitor detected when you go to Display Settings?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer
  Which version of Windows operating system am I running?
  
• What is the Make and model of the computer?
  

If you do not see the second monitor in Display Settings, I would suggest you to click on Detect and see if the second monitor gets detected.



Since you are facing this issue after updating the Radeon software, you may want to try rolling back the driver and see if that helps.



To do this, refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.
2. Expand Display adapters.
3. Right click on the Radeon Driver and select Properties.
4. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver.
5. Restart the computer if prompted.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists, we will certainly assist you further.

Dual monitor, Dual mouse??

Please share this information to assist you better.

• How have you setup dual monitors?
• Are you referring to use 2 different mouse/keyboard with the dual monitor setup?

If yes, the mouse or keyboard may function same as one another. Since, it has to be connected to single PC/tower.

However, setting up 2 different mouse/keyboard with the Dual- monitor setup, it may not function separately for each monitor.

Let us know the status of the issue. We will assist you further.
