Windows 10: Dual Monitors want to change from 3 extended to 1 dual when lap top lid is closed

I have a current dual monitor setup using my laptop as the main display. Laptop is a HP Probook connected to 2 LG monitors. I can extend to both monitors. Problem is, when I close the lid on the laptop, it wants to convert back to only 1 screen display onto 2 monitors. I have the laptop display setting correct when lid is closed. "do nothing" in sleep and power mode. How do I stop the display config from changing from 3 extended to 1 dual?

Screensaver slideshow does not display correctly whith dual monitors set to "extend desktop"

Objective: I have dual monitors (as an extended desktop, side by side) and want it to show my own pictures as a screensaver slideshow in Windows 10.

Problem: Only the lower half ot the picture is diplayes in the top half of monitor 1. Monitor 2 is black.

Addtional observations:

• In "Screen Saver Settings" the small mock-up display looks fine, however when i select "Preview" the problem with only half the picture displayed occurs also in the preview.
• The problem does not occur with only one monitor in use
• The problem does not occur with dual monitors set to "Duplicate these displays"

Gratefull for all suggestions to solve the problem

The same picture also work fine as desctop background with different pictures displayed on each monitor.

HP 15-DY2073DX with Dual External Monitors Lid Closed - Wake W11 Detects 3 Screens

The HP 15-DY2073DX has an ASUS PA248 monitor connected via left-side USB-A and ASUS PA248 connected via right-side HDMI. After configuring laptop to "Do Nothing" "When Closing The Lid" and closing the lid, Settings-Displays properly detects only the external monitors with Right One Extended. After the laptop sleeps overnight on wake by tapping SPACE BAR, Settings-Displays show 3 monitors including the laptop screen. The user has to open the laptop, wait for Windows to display then close lid so that only the external monitors are detected with Main and Extend. The laptop has all updates applied. Is this a known bug in W11 or related to HP hardware?
