Dual monitors with double HDMI adapter not working

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. My computer only has a single HDMI port, but I need to have 2 HDMI monitors. I bought an adapter that you plug in both HDMIs, and that connects to the PC as a single HDMI. But all that does is shows the same display on both monitors, like one monitor is just a copy of the other. What I need is to have each monitor be different, but windows detects both of them as a single monitor, and I can't seem to change it. I've gone into the display options, and nothing shows up underneath "multiple displays." When I click "detect" other monitors, nothing happens. I haven't found any literature about this on the internet, so I came here. Is there a way around this?

    :)

  2. Monitor is not working with DisplayPort to HDMI adapter

I have a HP EliteDisplay E222 and it is not able to recieve signals using a HDMI to DisplayPort adapter. I have tried plugging in the DisplayPort side of the adapter into my computer and into my graphics card and both of them give me no signal and that makes
me think it is the monitors issue. However, when I plug the current monitor I am using into the HDMI side of the adapter (when the DisplayPort side of the adapter is connected to my computer) I also get no signal.

I have confirmed that the adapter works on my other computer but I just can not find out why it is not working on my main one.

    I have tried:

    1. Letting windows pick graphic card drivers (RX 570)
    2. Installing the latest drivers
    3. Taking the power cable out of my second monitor for one minute
    4. Resetting the monitor
    5. Turning off the power saving setting in the monitor
    6. Turning power mode to high performance in Windows 10

Unfortunately my current monitor has no DisplayPort port. If it did, I could of connected the DisplayPort side of the adapter to it to determine if the graphic card is the problem or if the monitor is.

  3. Double Monitor Setup is not connecting

    Hi Yuri,

To setup dual monitors, I suggest you to press Windows + P keys
and select Extend or the required option and check for status. If you are still unable to setup dual monitor, suggest you to update the Display Adapter driver by following the steps provided below and check for status.

    • Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on the status for further assistance.

Dual monitors with double HDMI adapter not working

Dual monitors with HDMI not working

    Hi Anthony,

If both devices aren't detecting each other after properly setting them up, try these steps and see if it helps:

    • First you need a video cable for making the physically connection. For better picture quality, you should connect the computer to the TV using standard VGA ports or via the DVI to HDMI cable provided your TV supports these ports.
    • Open the "display settings" in your computer and activate output to the TV screen. You can either mirror content of your computer on the TV or extend the display just like a dual monitor screen.
    • Pick up your TV remote and switch to "External Inputs" from the menu. You will need to change the default "Video 1" to a different selection which may be "HDMI 1" or "Video 2" depending on how you have made the connection.

Important: Make sure you connect the cable to the TV before turning on the computer as sometimes it may fail to recognize external display.

Also, you may refer to Andre Da Costa's How to add multiple monitors to
    your Windows 10 PC
for more information about setting up dual monitors in Windows 10.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
