  1. Dual monitors working fine but one becomes inaccessible if left unattended. Only a reboot...

For almost a year I have been losing access to one of my 2 monitors when I leave the computer on and unattended (overnight or for a few hours). In Windows Display I have chosen no eco properties (never sleep) I checked the hardware options on the monitor (secondary monitor: Samsung S27F350) to ensure that no eco/sleep has been engaged.

When the problem occurs, all my open windows are still open but on the one active monitor only (main) and the other one (secondary) is dark and can't be detected by the Display within Windows. Only rebooting will 'fix' the problem; until it happens again.

I normally leave my computer on and switch off the power to the monitors only. There's no reason to do this anymore because it always requires a reboot to get both monitors back again. Help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Windows 10 Pro v1803 build 17134.165, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti running 1920 x 1080 @ 60HZ

    :)

    Dual Monitor setup stopped working

    Hi Randall,

There are various reasons why you're encountering the issue. For us to better assist you on your concern, please provide the answers to the question below:

    • What is the OS Build of your Windows 10? To determine the build of your Windows 10, follow these steps:
      • Click the Windows logo (Start button).
      • Click the gear icon (Settings).
      • Select System.
      • On the left pane, choose About.
    • Are you using a laptop or a desktop?
    • How are your monitors connected to the computer? Are your monitors connected to the built-in slot of your motherboard or are they connected to the slot of your video card?
    • If you're using a desktop, what cables are using to connect your monitors to the computer?
    • What is happening when you're using a dual monitor set up? Is one of your monitors working? If so, have you checked if the other monitor will work when you use it by itself?

If possible, send a picture of the issue for us to further investigate your concern.

Windows 10 Update - Now my dual monitors do not work

    Hi,

One of the possible reasons why Windows 10 was unable to detect your dual monitor is an outdated or incompatible graphics driver. To best address your concern, we need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which Windows 10 build are you using?
    • Have you already tried performing the troubleshooting steps suggested by
Mauro Cavallin on June 16, 2017?
    • Are both of the monitors not working just like what the original poster was experiencing? If yes, have you tried disconnecting one of the monitors? What was the outcome?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

We will be waiting for your response.
