Windows 10: dual screen not working properly

I installed an old computer monitor to my system, to use it for a dual screen setup. On the first time setting it up, it worked perfectly, but after booting the computer next day, it just didn't work anymore. The monitor's LED ight is on, and blinking, but the screen doesn't display anything.
If I try to project the screen as "extend" or "duplicate", windows acts like there's a monitor there, and the cursor does go off to the other screen in extend, and it does duplicate the other screen I can tell because the second monitor is 5:4 and it duplicates with black bars on the main screen, but again, nothing shows up on the screen.
I tried running the display alone and it works just fine, and this somehow does something to it and it makes it work, but just like in the beginning, I manage to make it work in dual screen until the next boot-up and then it doesn't work. In windows settings it says that "Display 1 is not active" I use display 2 as my main.

I have my graphics drivers installed AMD drivers as well as the display drivers. The display is a fujitsu computers siemens and It's connected with a VGA cable.

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to check if that helps.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

  Press Windows key + R to get the run window.
  
• 
  Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
