Windows 10: Dualshock 4 won't connect to windows!

Hello! I have recently been having trouble with my dualshock 4 controller to my computer to play the new lego star wars game. I am using a wired connection.
This is how my set-up process usually goes:
I plug in my controller, and I get a windows notification saying that my controller is being set up
My controller back bar LEDs are flashing orange, but it doesnt connect to anything.
When I try to use controller configuration apps like inputmapper or ds4windows, it says that there is no controller, even though my controller is plugged in.
I also tried using bluetooth. it seemed to connect with bluetooth and said that the controller was connected on the bluetooth tab, but the controller failed to work in any applications.
Here are some things I have also tried:
Switching controllers; I have multiple controllers at home, and I have tried all 3 of them, and none of them work, which makes me think this is a computer problem. (the controllers work fine on my playstation)
I have also tried hard resetting the controllers (the tiny button on the back) but those also did not fix my problem.

• Is this issue specific to DualShock 4 controller gamepad?
• Did you try connecting the same device on different computer?
