Windows 10: Duplicate Account / Ghost Account / Winlogon Issue / Registry Issue / Windows 11

Hi, I recently installed some new software, which has caused some issues for me.Whenever i restart my pc or turn it on, it shows two accounts, one is a duplicate which doesn't open at all.Here's what happens when I turn on my pc [I can't post images for some reason on this forum, so i will post hyperlinks for it. I hope you can access it.]This is what shows when i restart my pc or power it onAfter pressing okay, it shows this next. Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown

• Repair Outlook:
  
  • First, try repairing your Outlook installation. You can do this by following these steps:
    
  • Open Outlook.
    
  • Go to File > Tools > Account Settings.
    
  • On the Account Settings window, click on the E-mail tab.
    
  • Select your email account from the list.
    
  • A new window called Email account should open.
    
  • Click on the “More Settings” button.
    
  • In the “Internet E-mail Settings” window, open the Outgoing Server tab.
    
  • Check the box that says “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”.
    
  • Click OK to apply the changes.
    
  • Restart Outlook and check if the error persists.
    
• Delete Duplicate Accounts:
  
  • Duplicate accounts can sometimes cause the 0x800ccc0e error. Follow these steps to check for duplicate accounts:
    
  • In Outlook, go to Tools > Accounts.
    
  • Navigate to the Mail tab.
    
  • Select any duplicate mail account that you see.
    
  • Click on the Remove button to delete those accounts.
    
  • Restart Outlook and check if the error still occurs.
    
• Change Server Port Number:

Duplicate user account - but does not exist

Thanks for the reply, yes you are misunderstanding.
The laptop does come with W10 home "installed" the usual mess.
I have set up auto admin logon as I always do, but it is creating a "ghost" account that I cannot trace.
The reg entries are
Winlogon/AutoAdmin/Logon = 1
DefaultPassword = password (sic)
DefaultUserName =
It tries to logon but finds this "ghost" account instead of the real one
Its that ghost account that I cannot track down.
All the registry entries relate to the real account
