Windows 10: Duplicate Entries of Drivers in Device Manager in Windows 11

Greetings.I am facing an issue when I connect my 2nd display touch cable to my HP Laptop. it generating duplicate entries in DM. and the mouse curser not working properly it moving and disappearing. I tried with different cable but problem still persists. when I unplug the cable mouse working fine.Also i remove the entries from DM but whenever I replug the touch cable regenerates duplicate entries.

Duplicate entries in Device Manager

I run a new PC computer with Windows 10 Pro.

Under Device Manager there are many devices that have duplicate entries.

The duplicates use different usb designation number ie "usb 1" "usb 2"

I have read multiple "QUESTIONS" previously asked here and none of you actually ever address this. or answer it.

No update has fixed this & I suspect it is not broken.

IS This "phenomenon" due to the way we are not actually in charge of our system.

We are really a "guest admin" working in a segregated bubble thing..??

I Mean, the mouse attached shows an entry & also the 'virtual' Mouse I'm Really Using in My BUBBLE also Gets an entry.

Its is a symptom of this protection, yes..??

Because IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE HAS THEIR OWN KEYBOARD & MOUSE

PLUGGED INTO MY PC... OFF SOME WHERE ELSE IN THE EITHER... BUT, that isn't true Right

I net if you actually look at your own device manager, you'd find the same 'Ghosts' entries.

Device Manager "other" entries

After a fresh W10 1703 fully updated install on a 3148 Inspiron laptop, four OTHER DEVICES appear in Device Manager: PCI Data Aqquisition and Signal Processing Controller and three 'unknown devices.' "Drivers not installed; no compatible driver can be found."

Prior to this install several Intel drivers were listed under Programs and Features. likely because they were added after the fact. They are not listed now and Intel's update utility reports nothing missing. SFC is good and PC operation is normal.

The errant entries are redetected at boot even if disabled, or uninstalled via Safe Mode. Suggestions on banishing them for good would be appreciated.

 

Duplicate entries for fingerprint reader in device manager makes it not work

It sounds like there are two duplicated fingerprint sensors under the Device Manager of your Windows 11. Sorry to hear this. This situation indicates a malfunction in your system operation. ANd the common reasons are various. But the immediate cause of the "Duplicate entries in device manager" error is a failure to correctly run one of its normal operations by a system or application component.

In this case, it is advised to perform an in-place update of your Windows 11, if the problem is still there, a system reinstallation will be necessary.

To perform an in-place upgrade of your Windows 11 (Unlike reinstallation or reset of the system, this repair process will not affect your data or programs. And won't waste a lot of time).

• Go to the Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com) to download the Windows 11 ISO file.
  
• After the downloading process ends completely, click the tool to run it. > Agree > Select the Upgrade this PC Now option > Next > After downloading, you need to choose to keep your personal files or start fresh. > Your computer will restart several times. > After that, log in to Windows 11 and make the needed settings.
  

Note:

1. Leave 20-25G space on your system disk to perform this.
   
2. It is recommended to back your files up to avoid unnecessary data loss before performing this.
