  1. Duplication start menu!

Good morning, I have noticed that nearly everything in my start menu left of Live Tile screen Windows 10 is duplicated! Irrespective of which one I click on they open the App so they are all live! I have read various posts but I just wanted to know the best and easiest way to remove them! If they are not posing a problem should I leave well alone is another question!Windows 10 22H2Brian

    Start menu duplicate Shortcuts

This answer is for Windows build 15063 (Creator Update)

If Charlie C's answer doesn't work (in my case It's even get worse, having triplicate to three tiles per shortcut), please try this:

    1. Go to the start menu shortcut folder (e.g. C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs). Locate the problematic shortcut, made a copy of it to the same folder.
    2. Unpin the last problematic tile in the start menu. You will notice that instead of the latest one, the first duplicate disappear instead.
    3. Go back to the start menu folder, delete the original problematic shortcut. (keep the copy).
    4. Back to start menu, the remaining problematic tiles will change their name to the name of the copy of the shortcut (something like - Copy).
    5. Now you have one less duplicate tiles. Repeat step 1-4 until a single tile of the shortcut left.

    Broken/Duplicate Item in Start Menu

    Hi,

The duplicate icon that's appearing in the Start Menu may be due to broken system components or file corruptions. Let's try resolving this concern by running the
System File Checker tool. This will scan and restore any corrupted system files. To do this, here are the steps:

    • Type Command Prompt in the Search box from the taskbar.
    • Right-click on it, then select Run as administrator.
    • Enter DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the spaces before each "/").
    • Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").

We’ll wait for your update after trying the steps provided.
