Windows 10: DVD Autoplay

    DVD Autoplay


    Running Windows 10


    I have installed a free media and dvd player called Media Player Classic MPC.


    I can set this application as the default player for media files, and it all works fine.


    When I open a DVD with the application, it opens and run without any issues.


    When I insert a DVD, I get a message pop up "Asking what to do with the DVD", when I click the option, I do not see the app MPC in the list.


    How can I get MPC to appear in this list?


    Or even better, how can I have MPC open and run automatically when a DVD is inserted?

    Program doesn't exist for Autoplay

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

    I suggest you to set the Autoplay settings and check if it helps.

    Follow the steps below.

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control Panel.
    • Go to Control Panel and locate AutoPlay.
    • In AutoPlay settings make sure that you check Use AutoPlay for all media and devices.
    • Next click the Reset all defaults button. Your Autoplay settings should be reset to default.

    • Insert USB or DVD to see if Autoplay is working.

    I have tried all the suggestions I've read online but my DVD still does not autoplay. How can I fix this problem.

    We regret the inconvenience caused to you due to this issue. Let me assist you further to resolve the issue.

    As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to check the Autoplay settings and check if the option for
    Autoplay can be enabled for all medias (including DVD & Blue Ray) .

    • Open the Control panel, and click on the Autoplay icon.
    • Check the “Use AutoPlay for all media and devices” box to turn AutoPlay to
      on.
