I have tried ejecting and starting over; the disc shows as empty in Win10 and there are no files/folders nor files waiting to be burned. Writing to DVD

    Hi Ernie,

The error "The source and destination file names are the same." means that File Explorer sees same file names. For us to better assist you with this, what app are you using to burn a DVD?

In the meantime, you may follow the steps below to resolve the error:

    • Move the files to another location and rename it there.
    • Move the renamed files to the original location.
    • Then try to burn again.

We're looking forward to your reply.

  3. DVD Burn

    Hi Dan,

The notification message "The source and destination file names are the same" means that you already transferred the files virtually on the DVD drive and they are ready to burn.

Check the disk drive if the files that you want to burn are already there or not.

Let us know if this addresses your concerns.
