    DVD burner not working


    When I tried to play a disc in the dvd player nothing happened, so I checked in Device Manager and the dvd had a yellow triangle on it, so I uninstalled it then restarted the computer. There was no change so I checked the error report and found this,
    "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
    I opened regedit and went to {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, there was a lower listed but not an upper.
    I restarted the computer but the DVD still is not working.
    What do I do next?

    CD/DVD Drive not working after upgrade to Windows 10 from 8.1

    I have given up on getting my DVD burner going. I bought an external DVD burner with USB connection and that does work.

    my dvd drive will still be operational on my computer windows 7 home premium when windows 10 is installed

    I upgraded my Sony laptop to Windows 10. DVD burner does not work with Windows 10!

    Checked with Roxio and Optiarc for upgrade driver. Response "were told product would migrate fully with windows 10" Cd burner works but not DVD burner. SAD STATE!

    DVD burner not working

    I rang microsoft and asked (expected) them to fix this
    they did
    because in fact I owned it and it was working prior to my update to windows 10
    most annoying
    some blogs suggest its because windows expects you to have an xbox*Biggrin
    Im no techy
    yet this is my fix
