    DVD/CD-ROM D drive is no longer recognized by Windows 10/Office Home and Business 2016


    DVD/CD-ROM D drive is no longer recognized by Windows 10/Office Home and Business 2016. I have gone to the control panel, then Device Manager and then DVD-CD-Rom drives. I clicked on search for most current driver in case a new one was needed. It came indicating that the latest driver was installed. How can I get the DVD reactivated?

    DVD/CD Drive Saying CD-Rom

    My Dvd drive is listed in my device manager however it is set as cd rom in the description, it also wont open and is not set as my default drive, any suggestions?

    windows 10 if that changes anything

    CD ROM Drive (DDVD/CD-ROM D drive is no longer recognized by Windows 10/Office Home and Business 2016 :)

    The CD Rom Drive (DDVD/CD-ROM D drive is no longer recognized by Windows 10/Office Home and Business 2016 :) got changed to DVD RW Drive (DDVD/CD-ROM D drive is no longer recognized by Windows 10/Office Home and Business 2016 :) during windows update. How do I change it back to CD ROM Drive instead of DVD RW Drive which I don't need.
