Windows 10: DVD connection

I have a new ASUS Vivo all in one computer and cannot get it to accept a Sony DVD player. When I insert the USB Cable nothing happens. Any advice?Jim

• The DVD disc itself - Check if a different DVD works
• The DVD Player's optical reader (the lens which 'reads' the data from DVDs)

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to check if decreasing the speed of your burner while writing the disk help.

It may be that your DVD drive has a hardware failure (as was suggested in that thread).

Step 1: I suggest you to run Windows Media Player DVD troubleshooter.

Steps:

• Press Windows key, type troubleshooting
  and select it.
• Click on View all in the left pane.
• Click onWindows Media Player DVD and follow the onscreen instructions.
