    DVD Drive E: CCCOMA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV9 icon on Desktop


    This icon showed up on desktop after getting help from Microsoft support in India for installing Windows 10, as it would not install when I tried. I tried to delete the icon from desktop but get message that 'action can't be completed as file is open in system'. What is this file and why can't it be deleted from desktop? There are other options of moving to One Drive that does not work, Share, Give access to, Mount, Burn Disc Image, Open With, Create Shortcut, Rename, etc. I do not want any of these I don't think I do. So what is this all about? I already have a DVD RW Drive D:.

    Remove Linux Desktop Icons

    I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

    I suggest you to update the drivers for CD/DVD drive by following the steps below and check if the issue persists.

    • Press Windows key + R and select Device Manager from the list.
    • Expand DVD/CD-ROM drives.
    • Right click on the driver and select update driver software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts and to update the driver.
